This year's conference, held in the Marriott Marquis in Times Square at the Heart of New York, will take place November 22-25 of this year. The theme will be "The Dynamics of Leadership: Transformation and Innovation in the 21st Century." Given the current sub-prime mortgage crisis and the conference's proximity to the 2008 Presidential Election, we thought leadership would be an incredibly timely theme--whether you are an entrepreneur, a politician, or a CEO, leadership is a quality that will make or break your organization.
Industry Leaders:
- What are the qualities that separate the leader in an industry from its competitors? How do the executives of these companies analyze such qualities and how do they stay ahead of the pack?
- What distinguishes an outstanding executive from one that is adequate? How do these executives respond in times of struggle and massive change?
- How does one manage both the bureaucracy and office politics that come with large organizations? How can leaders implement great change to make true, lasting impact?
Entrepreneurship:
- What are the qualities of a successful entrepreneur? How do these qualities differ from those of an executive in a large company?
- In the past, how have entrepreneurs changed the way the world works? How will they do so in the future?
- What role do venture capitalists play in the development of new ideas? What do they look for in leaders of small startups? Do VC firms foster or hurt creativity in the business world?
The Political Sector:
- What does the corporate world look for in a United States President? How do the decisions and policies of the government impact different businesses?
- How does the international presence of our government impact business dealings? Are politics now playing a smaller or larger role in business due to globalization?
- What role should businesses play in determining government policies? What are the different ways to implement government change and how should we view these policy changes?
