Q + A with Ron Meyer, President and COO of Universal Studios

Join Business Today for a Q + A with Ron Meyer, the President and COO of Universal Studios this Wednesday, November 7th, at 7:30 pm in Robertson Bowl 001. A former member of the U.S. Marines, Mr. Meyer began his career in Hollywood as a television agent with the William Morris Agency from 1970 to 1975. After that, Mr. Meyer co-founded Creative Artists Agency (CAA), which has developed into one of Hollywood's leading talent agencies. Mr. Meyer has held his position with Universal Studios since August 1995, making him the longest serving chief of a major motion picture company in Hollywood’s history.

Business Today Seminar Series proudly invites you to a conversation with Jim Goldman, the CEO of Godiva Chocolatier, Inc. Mr. Goldman has been President and CEO of Godiva since 2004. As CEO, he has been striving to make Godiva chocolates a treat to be consumed for more occasions, besides big holidays. He has moved Godiva forward by expanding into new countries, such as Shanghai and Turkey, and introducing new products, including a distribution of chocolate bars to pharmacies and grocery stores for anytime consumption. He has come up with innovative ways to draw customers into Godiva boutiques and overall make Godiva a more modern chocolate company that thinks outside of the box. He was also a vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, responsible for bank supervision and foreign relations. WHO WILL TAKE THE OATH? A Look at the Future of Medical Practice in America

Like society at large, the medical profession has undergone significant changes in the last several decades -- progressing on many fronts, but regressing on others. Health reform promises to accelerate these changes in a variety of important ways. In this presentation, Kurt Mosley and Eric Casazza, executives with the nation's largest health care staffing firm examine where the medical profession has been, where it is going, and how both the health care industry and the patients it serves will be affected. The presentation focuses on the shifting landscape in physician supply and demand -- how the number of full time equivalent doctors is dwindling and how health reform will affect the availability of doctors and the viability of medicine as a profession.

A Conversation with Ron Meyer, President and COO, Universal Studios

All of these films, along with hundreds of other popular titles, have been produced under the guidance of Ron Meyer, President and COO of Universal Studios, who will be coming to Princeton this coming Monday, October 19th. Addressing students in Robertson Hall 100 (Dodds Auditorium) at 7:30 pm, Mr. Meyer will speak to us about his remarkable career in the movie industry and then open the floor to questions from the audience. A high-school dropout with no formal education, Mr. Meyer has risen to become one of the most powerful names in the movie industry. Under Mr. Meyer’s leadership, Universal has also produced such Oscar-winning box-office hits as “Shakespeare in Love,” “Gladiator,” and “A Beautiful Mind.” Mr. Meyer has told us that he is expecting a wide range of questions, so feel free to ask about anything you ever wanted to know about him. This promising event will be followed by a short reception.

Summer Internship Panel Discussion with Maryellen Lamb

Maryellen Lamb, the Director of Investment Banking Recruiting at Wharton, fielded questions from an audience of Princeton students. The topic of discussion was succeeding in a summer internship and receiving a full time author. The audience was mostly Princeton Juniors who received summer internship offers and are looking to work full time at their companies. A panel of 5 Princeton seniors also answered questions about their experiences at various jobs from Investment Banking to Sales and Trading to Consulting. Check out the video for more!

Robert E. Bennett, Senior Vice President of Berkshire Hathaway Credit Corp, will be at Princeton on Wednesday, April 15th at 7:30pm in Robertson Hall Bowl 002, where he will shed light on finding a job in today's financial environment so you DON'T have to resort to business school right after graduation. As a graduate of the Princeton Class of 1982, Mr. Bennett entered the post-undergrad world in a similar economic climate and will address how that affected his career choices, as well as explain the potential advantages of being in an entry-level position during a recession. After graduation, Mr. Bennett worked at Goldman Sachs before attending Harvard Business School. He later returned to Goldman Sachs as COO of its Real Estate Department before joining Berkshire Hathaway. This seminar promises to reveal the silver lining of the current job market, and will be full of advice from someone who also entered the job market during economic turmoil.
